Phyllis "Phil" Faversham has been a friend of Joey's
since their college days. Phil, a lesbian, is an active member of the
Metropolitan Community Church (as is Joey). She is a social worker,
and is currently single. Like Miguel,
Phil enjoys reading and collecting comic books (her favorite is Mega-Girl).
She lives in a small apartment in the East Village with her boxer, Gertude.
Viewing the world from the unusual perspective of the canine lesbian,
Gertrude feels a sense of exasperation toward males in general, and
their libidos in particular. In short, she'd rather be in the company
of a fetching French Poodle (the dog equivalent of a "lipstick
lesbian") than a pack of posturing pit bulls.
