Matisse is a gay Jack Russell terrier. Though polite to a fault, he often has wry opinions about nearly everything. He is a highly intelligent dog, and very protective of his owner, David.

Having recently celebrated another birthday, Matisse is beginning to worry about getting older, as any gay male does. Still, he keeps fit by hanging out with younger pups, and occasionally chewing one of Miguel's shoes.

Matisse enjoys spending afternoons in Central Park, where - when he's not cruising other dogs -he dishes the dirt with the other "regulars," especially his best friend Trinket, a Pekingese.
